Some new shots for folksy singer-songwriter Billy Whims.

This one is my favourite I think. Bit of a Where The Wild Things Are vibe.

Behind the scenes with Jess on reflector duties.

A couple of my shots of furniture designer David Trubridge are in the current issue of Dumbo Feather. These were taken while I was at Bay of Fires earlier in the year. (See the original pics here.) I love what they’ve done with the opening pic.
A Fine Line used this shot of The Scandal on the cover of their winter issue.

The mag was originally designed by Hammer & Tong, but I’ve got a feeling they’re not doing it anymore which is a pity because it was looking pretty slick. I’m not really happy with the crop or the print quality of this one (see the original here)
The exhibition is up and running at 146 Elizabeth St. If you’re in Hobart, check it out during business hours till the end of the month.

Here’s a few of my favourites:

Palm This! by Scott Gelston.

The Roobs by Scott Gelston

The Reactions by Julian Teakle
And here’s a couple of mine that I haven’t blogged before.

Hobart’s newest supergroup and all-round tough guys Ride The Tiger

The Native Cats, who have just found out their next album will be released by ace US indie label Siltbreeze
I’m curating an exhibition of Tassie music photography as part of Amplified 2009
It’s called Southern Exposure: Images of Tasmanian Music and it features work from 10 photographers.
Here’s the posters.

Come and check it out if you’re in Hobart over the next couple of weeks.

Ivy St needed some new promo shots. This is what we did:

These are probably the least flattering photos I’ve ever taken. But hopefully they stand out against the constantly recurring band shot cliches and air-brushed posing that seems to be standard in music photography (see some funny examples here)
Ivy St are a great band doing some exciting things. They were snapped up by Wireless Records after a recent gig in Melbourne and they’ll be putting out their debut album in September, followed by a national tour and even some gigs in New Zealand.
